Die Swakopmunder Jetty


1902 wurde mit dem Bau einer Landungsbrücke begonnen.
 
Zuerst wurde sie aus Holz errichtet, um dann 1912 aus Eisen neu gebaut zu werden. Die beliebte Seebrücke wird von den Swakopmundern Jetty genannt.

The Swakop River is a major river in the western part of Namibia, reaching the sea at the southern edge of the city of Swakopmund (German for Mouth of the Swakop). As a river that lies in one of the driest regions of the Earth, it is very seasonal and may dry up for long stretches of time. the last time it reached the ocean was on Friday, 6th of March,2009

Woermannhaus


Das Woermannhaus  in der Bismarck Straße von Swakopmund ist eines der ältesten Gebäude der Stadt und eines ihrer meistbesuchten Wahrzeichen.
 
Das Woermannhaus beherbergt heute die Swakopmunder Stadtbibliothek, Café, Kunstgalerie und ein Militärmuseum.
